[Tfug] which linux for really old laptop

Do you have a Knoppix LiveCD?
              If the machine is unknown in terms of RAM, processor 
speed, and available hardware,
Knoppix should reveal this.
              I just built a box up that had adequate processor speed, 
(1.4Ghz), but had inadequate
memory for a install of a recent vintage Linux distro. I had to purchase 
sufficient RAM,
