Honestly... bare bones Firefox is a bit of a let down. I still prefer it over
IE any day, but there are definite advantages to Opera.
*But*, I find Firefox's greatest strength to be it's plugins. There are so
many and they turn an average browser into a great browser. I too dislike the
default look of Firefox, but there are countless themes to pick from (my
personal favorite for Firefox 2.x is Modern Pinball).
For usability, the plugins I must have:
Adblock Plus
Google Browser Sync
Download statusbar
BugMeNot
Less critical, but still handy are:
Tabbrowser preferences
Colorful tabs
Fission
Webdeveloper
And that's just my small list. I'm sure other TFUGgers have their own
preferred plugins. These are definitely what makes Firefox stand out.
