I have had no problems with my Dell M50. It was bought used and have had 
it for 2 years. It's old, but I think the reason it has ran almost 
flawlessly is that I put four paper cups on each corner and all that 
space underneath keeps it cool. Even when I'm not (that) hot, I will 
still put the air conditioning on for the laptop. I would (assume) it's 
the heat that causes the most problems with laptops.
