Right. I just need a straight through cable that
is longer than my 25' cables but shorter than the
50' cables! :<

I don't think they work as well as those molded onto
the connector-cable assembly. It's not a big deal;
more something for me to remember when I start tugging
on wires that get caught in the "nest"

I'm quite accustomed to building ribbon cables with
IDC cables so imagine this can't be any worse. Far
fewer conductors -- though with ribbon cable they
at least line themselves up nicely for you!
(except rainbow-ribbon)
