Actually the Broadcom drivers are a real success story these days, since
the decision to abandon bcm43xx (ieee80211 + softmac) and the emergence
of b43 (mac80211 based).

b43 support was pretty good in 2.6.23.x and it has been fabulous under
24+ (with the exception of a brief regression around 24-rc6).

I can honestly say that I would recommend Broadcom hardware to Linux
users (based solely on the quality of the driver; Broadcom, the company,
has been less than helpful).
