OK first off a disclaimer: I work at DakotaCom.Net. Yes I'm just trying to help this guy out.... I just happen to know we have wireless towers pretty far out there. (I just glanced at the topographic map we have setup in our network monitoring system)
Have you shopped around with local ISPs? Depending on where you are Dakota might have a tower within line of sight you can shoot to

I will gracefully bail out now in the hopes I don't get yelled at from the TFUG list for blatantly "advertising"

That actually is my internet service, but do to circumstances beyond
their control, and the fact I am at the edge of their service, I have
basically been without internet for over a week. I have been commuting
between Casa Grande and Tucson borrowing my parents internet.
My concern is that this outage will actually become a more permanent
thing given that it is only a small portion of their clientele that
are affected, and the difficulty of finding a suitable place for a new
tower (not to mention I am sure there is a bit of work and red tape to
get one setup). I am trying to be prepared and proactive in finding a
solution, as my job is in question if I can't be at my computer and
online.
Thank you though, it is a good suggestion, and those who can't get
normal broadband (or even if you do) Simplybits is an awesome service
and I have had no issues with them for over a year. Which is not
typical of my experiences with cable and dsl broadband.. :)
Sincerely,
Judd Pickell
