Going to the "dark side" (OS X) is really tempting... I find myself using my wife's MacBook Pro more and more, and X11 on OS X is just awesome
Anyone seen OpenMac? It's a "Beige box" capable of running Leopard... really, really temping

Your viewpoint isn't trolling, but your "body language" is. A lot of
people share your view about Linux desktop usability, but getting pissed
about it just gets you yellow socks and labeling as a troll.
For example, I've given up on Linux-on-the-desktop for OS X. Yes, I pay a
bit more, but it's closer to the "push a button and it works" than Linux
desktop is right at the moment. However, I remain solidly fixed in the
user camp for Linux from the command line for my serious processing needs
and for equipment and instrument control. Linux may someday make it as an
OS for the casual user's desktop, but it ain't there yet. I don't see this
as a fault, just a bald statement of fact.
