I'm not an expert on this subject by any means but putting code in stored
procedures is fairly routine. You just have to make sure its really good
code because you don't get the feedback you might with external code.

In general terms, how common would it be to include "program code"
inside an SQL database? Wouldn't that be considered, at a minimum,
squirrelly?
