My wife has been a staff employee and adjunct faculty there for over 15
years. She loves working for them. I will be adjunct faculty starting
in the spring semester. Like most large companies, there is a bit of
politics but my wife wouldn't work anyplace else.

The regular work week is 37.5 hours because I don't think they pay you
for lunch breaks. Not the highest paying place but there is something to
be said for working for a company that provides a social service like
education. As a state employee, the benefits package is decent.

You might talk to Ron Evans, the CIS department chair at west campus, or
George Bentley who is IT staff and adjunct faculty. Louis Taber posts
here sometimes, he's regular faculty at west campus. Harry McGregor is
also adjunct faculty at west and teaches Linux. They could give you some
idea of what PCC is like as an employer.

For many years I worked for a not-for-profit hospital group. When I got
outsourced in 2003 to a for-profit IT corporation, it was a drastic
change and not at all fun. I keep watching the Pima job board for
something I might be interested in. I'm not a Linux/Unix guru or I
would apply for the position! ;-)
