WorldCare has a few linksys "KVM2KIT" two-port KVM
switches (Keyboard, Video, Mouse). These allow two
computers to share a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
These particular KVM's are ideally suited for PC
"PS/2" use (i.e., they won't work with USB keyboards
unless you use a USB-PS/2 dongle).

The switch is controlled from the (shared) keyboard:
- SCROLL LOCK pressed twice toggles the switch to the
"other" (i.e., not currently selected) PC
- LEFT SHIFT, RIGHT SHIFT invokes an "auto-scan" mode
(wherein the switch continuously toggles between the
  machines every few seconds)
- SPACE terminates autoscan mode
- LEFT SHIFT, RIGHT SHIFT, <digit> changes scan rate

The switch does not require a power supply (aka wall
wart) as it draws power from the keyboard ports of the
two PC's to which it is connected. And, since control
of the switch is done via the shared keyboard, there
are no controls (i.e., buttons) on the switch itself.
As a result, no space on the desktop is wasted -- the
switch can hide among the tangle of wires beneath your
workbench! ;-) (you *do* have a tangle of wires,
don't you?? Doesn't *everyone*!!? :> )

(If bad link, try googling "KVM2KIT site:linksys.com")

The switches are priced at $5. There should be some
bigger switches (i.e., 4 and 8 port) available next
week.
