Are you using the Solaris 10 box as the Client?
If So, Sun tends to use non standard attribute/value pairs on their
clients when they connect. Typically what you must do on the LDAP server
is map the attribute the client is expecting to real entries in the LDAP
database. Further the Solaris ldap clients get all of their profile
information from the LDAP server, so in order for it to correctly join
the LDAP server, you must create a proper Sun LDAP profile on the server
for the client to download.

I tried with both the native ldapclient and openldap. The only difference that my implementation has that is not listed in the others is that I am testing from a single zone which means that mknod will not work.
