I know very little about Linux, but i even got ssh to work. I have a linux
box at work, where we generally run winders. We have vpn. Then from home I
have XP, and start vpn. I run XliveCD (installed I guess it's Cygwin)
 http://xlivecd.indiana.edu/
It opens up an XWindows in in XP. Then I do ssh to work here and get a text
looking window. I then type stuff like kdevelop, and get the full graphical
development environment, debug screens and all. Its pop-ups and icons even
show up in the XP status bar. It's a bit slow to repaint screens, even on
cable modem, but still workable. I tried it locally from XP and invoked the
desktop, instead of just kdevelop, and I had my full desktop that I had from
the machine itself! I'd add a file to the desktop at the machine, and
immediately saw it on the remote.
