To squeeze the last drop of performance out of it I would suggest Gentoo -
everything is built from source. I set up a nice quick web server with 64Mb
RAM, but no desktop. However be prepared to spend a long time compiling
KDE...

You'll probably want to stuff more RAM in it if you want to do any
serious web browsing, or have several apps running simultaneously.
