Remove all trace of the gij complier it gets in the way all to often.
I keep a lot of Sun,IBM and BEA compiler versions on my machine.
I then do a symbolic link to desired JRE/JVM .
so my path is always
PATH=...:/opt/java/bin:...
and I do
ln -s /opt/java /opt/some/desired/jvm
