OOPS for me too: After the intro paragraph, the rest of that web page  
could be replaced with something a bit more Unixy:

1. mkisofs -o /tmp/apt.iso -J -r ~/apt-archive/*deb
2. cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdc /tmp/apt.iso

And maybe 1a. for people who don't know where their CD drive is:
  * cdrecord -scanbus
  * if that didn't work: wodim -scanbus
  * if that didn't work: wodim --devices
