We can probably take the door analogy a little further. How about:
1. Broadcast the signal = Leave the door wide open
2. Don't broadcast the signal = Close the door
3. Don't broadcast the signal = Lock the door and possibly turn on
and turn on security features an alarm.
There is obviously another state that I am purposely ignoring, and that
is to broadcast the signal with security features turned on. What would
the equivalent state for a house be? Open door with a posted guard?
I doubt the court system would see it this way as they seem to demonize
many computer related crimes. But if they did, then accessing a
broadcasted and insecure wifi network would be like trespassing.
