Your running slackware right? If so run netconfig in cli itll bring up a
dialog where you set your card and dhcp/static ip settings depending on
which you want to do personally id say just go dhcp and it should bring
you up at boot

Going back to manually configure eth0 leads to an error when I try to
put in the gateway (192.168.0.1). I get "host name lookup failure". I
thought putting qwest and the IP numbers for their nameservers in my
/etc/resolv.cof solved this, but I guess not.
