Tell me about the T bit in Linux and other Unices.

I have folklore only.

I heard that in some unices, it keeps the program in
RAM after it executes.

In other unices, it keeps people from deleting files
in /tmp, unless they own it.

I have used HP-UX since 1993, and Linux since 2000.

In HP-UX, I would run scripts to delete other
users /tmp files all the time.  And it worked.  But,
it would not delete directories in /tmp
