Chris: the part of YaST I found hideous was the package management process.

At some point for reasons unknown, the system's ability to eat downloaded
RPMs vanished.  One minute I had it, the next, gone.

Sometimes the standard auto-updates would croak for lack of available
repositories - the server hosting them would go up and down like a yoyo.

It just got to be too much.

As to Fedora Core 6...it's got "issues" now and then, but...damn, it's good
stuff.
