No.  Those hours get paid for thousands (millions?)
of times over by folks running that slow application
every day, etc.  And, that laziness on the coder's
part punishes *every* application (and the OS itself)
running on that machine by selfishly deciding that
*it* needs that resource more than some other
application might, etc.

It's the same sort of brain-damage that has software
(on CD) installers working with *compressed* images
instead of just creating a "live filesystem" direct
on CD (DVD) and blindly *copying* files onto the
target (instead of having to do whatever they are
doing for those 10, 20, 40, etc. minutes while
"Installing Software").

Cripes, you can clone a 40G drive in the time it
takes to install Windows/Linux/etc.
