Like a charm! T30 is P4 T23 is P3. T43 is also P3 as IBM realized that  
they need more energy efficient laptop.
Look for the one that has at least 512Mb RAM preferably 1Gb and be ready  
to get new battery for $30. The one that come from the Ebay are usually  
junk.
In my experience it is not worthy paying more for the HD of 60Gb as 40Gb  
or even 20 is plenty enough. I personally use many computers with 6Gb HDD  
and I have all I need. The same goes DVD rom vs DVD burner. If you want  
all that stuff you much better of building your own Desktop. You could  
probably build a good P4 with all gadgets for $100.

P. S. I heard rumors that Open Office port is broken for FreeBSD. I might  
be wrong as I do not use OO and I hate such kind of programs
but it is probably worthy of checking.
