Hi,

Asking for a friend...

Are there any good, *introductory* LISP texts that
folks would recommend?

I learned with:

Winston, Patrick Henry, _Artificial Intelligence_

and

Winston, Patrick Henry & Horn, Berthold Klaus Paul
Horn,
_LISP_

The first text was primarily for *applications*
(very little LISP code!) while the second
concentrated on the language proper.

I've also found:

Friedman, Daniel P & Felleisen, Matthias (note
two T's there!) _The Little LISPer_

which seems to be an easy read (though I am
not sure how "available" that title is...).

Of course, there are also books on various
LISP variants and dialects (smalltalk,
interlisp, emacs lisp, etc.) so those
might also be viable options...

Thanks!
