[Tfug] general solutions to dl video from obscured links

trying to dl or even play a video.  curious how others do it.

firefox merely saves a .asp file; following the link inside it leads
to some <ASX ...> thing.  i tried firefox's split link extension and
keepvid.com to no avail.

if you're interested in nerd activism you might want to look at this
story.  summary: guy works on his laptop at a denny's, is verbally
assaulted for being a nerd, then is beaten unconscious by a $21
million football player and (according to the story) 5 others,
including at least two other football players.  the good news is that
there is a videotape of it.

i suspect the video in question doesn't include the actual evidence
tape, but it got me curious how to get past the url tricks.
