Go to SWS and get an inexpensive Highpoint Rocket 100 controller card. 
Then you use the built in ide for one drive and the Highpoint for the other.

I think it was somewhere around $30.  That's what I'm running on a 
server here at home.  Raid-1 with two 80 gig ide drives under Debian Sarge.
