Also, some router/accesspoint appliances have this feature built in as
an option. My netgear acess point has exactly this feature. If not,
you probably need to have a (linux) box or firewall of some sort in
between the wired local network and the wireless/cable modem network.
For that, Ben's suggestion may help.
