All of the big power transformers that hung on the utility poles, (and

transformers.  As I recall, it was PCP based and has been the cause of a 
lot of environmental concern.

Ham radio operators used to be able to buy or build a dummy load from 
Heathkit that was mounted in a 1 gallon metal can and you filled it with 
oil to dissipate the heat.

It's actually a great idea but a little messy to implement.
