[Tfug] remote X for the first time

Been doin it for years:
       I assume you have a trusted LAN. Only one of my machines has a 
firewall, and
that's the one that is exposed to the internet.
       I can get away with "xhost +" because the machine I use to make 
x11 connections
has an old kernel that was conceived before all manner of security 
issues arose just
on the subject of 6000 socket connections to a remote machine. It's a 
wonderful technology.
Unfortunately, It's been hobbled by  all the  security issues  of the 
modern  world.
       When you think of it, xhost + was security 101 back in the good 
old days.
       The old kernel is safely in my posession. Primitive man triumphs.
