Working with libtool, especially when it doesn't work, is an exercise in
pain. I doubt the problem is the extra slash, because that is still a valid
path. An extra slash is just fluff.
Libtool is really terribly complex. Unless you're a developer, or a UNIX
uber-guru, debugging will be hard. The best advice would be to ask the
subversion list, since they may have already noted this problem. Failing
that, try the libtool list. They should definitely have some ideas.
