Title: Client is looking for a senior level Unix Systems Programmer/
Administrator
to work in their Distributed Operating Systems group in their Enterprise
Infrastructure Services organization.
Start: Immediately
Length: Through the end of 2005 (with possibility of going long-term)
Location: Northern Phoenix, Arizona (Close to Metrocenter Mall)
Summary:
Provide Level 2/3 support to end-user community consisting primarily of
DBA and
application developers. Position requires 7x24 support in an on-call
rotation.
Required skills that are non-negotiable -- there will be no time for remedial
learning:
Working hands-on knowledge with current Sun systems including Ex900/
Ex800, V240,
V440, V480, E450 product line
Working hands-on knowledge of current Solaris and general IT system security
policies, procedures, and concepts
Experience supporting/administering SSH connectivity issues
Heavy NIS and NFS experience
Solaris Volume Manager/Solstice DiskSuite experience
Veritas Volume Manager experience
All aspects of Solaris administration including OS patching, system builds
using
Jumpstart, general shell scripting abilities in bourne/korn/bash/sed/awk, IP
connectivity troubleshooting
Experience with supporting Solaris clients attached to NAS/SAN storage and
ability
to effectively troubleshoot problems/issues and provide timely resolution
Experience with and ability to function in a very process-oriented
environment with
a stringently managed changed control process framework
Ability to respond to call-out situations and resolve hardware/software
issues in a
timely fashion. This includes working with multiple customers, vendors,
and other IS
support groups to restore service availability.
Desired skills:
Experience with Network Appliance NAS/SAN
Oracle and Sybase general knowledge
Experience with DNS and Sendmail
Some knowledge of AIX 5.2/5.3
Note from Client: This contract could also be titled a Unix System
Administrator.
It is in client's Distributed Operating Systems group in Infrastructure,
so it is
probably more administration than programming. Either title works.
