hmm, i have been avoiding upgrading xserver-xfree86 because it might
not work with the proprietary-only driver for
matrox g550 dvi.  i wonder if the xorg people are going to
work on an open source dvi for mga sometime, or if their
priorities lie elsewhere.  (nota bene: avoid matrox.)
