 Did you apply the SNEGO (aka "sign or seal") registry patch? Until recently
2kSP3 & XPSP1 would refuse to talk to samba(proper, not TNG) without turning
that option off. They would join fine, but not be able to access the domain.

  The .reg files are in the samba source tree, under documentation I think.
