Hello -,
I am sure that one of the debian folks will give more exact info,
but there shouldn't be any problems getting this working with 2.4.
I am willing to bet that the hardest part is getting the pcmcia
support installed/operational first. Once that is done then the
adapter will load.
I have done clean installs of RH on several laptops using 3c589
adapters without a problem (RH kernel includes pcmcia support out of
the box). The driver is actually part of pcmcia package and from
what I have read on the web should support 3c562/3 network side
without a problem. You will have to load serial_cs.o to get the
modem side loaded I believe.
Do you even have pcmcia support installed yet? What does dmesg
show? What are you seeing on the screen when you start pcmcia?
