[Tfug] hardware upgrade advice

Charles,

I haven't had much experience with the hardware, but I have read in
several places (especially gaming forums), that the KT400 is not all its
cracked up to be. It allows you to use the DDR memory at higher clock
speeds, but I've read that you are better off with the KT333. KT400 is
prone to crashing with the faster memory. Also the memory isn't really
that fast anyway. In most cases cases PC2700 is faster than the PC3200.

Also, if I were going to get a motherboard at all, I'd go with the
nForce2 chipset by nVidia with dual-channel ddr memory. W00t!

I've used the predecessor that wasn't that great (nForce), and I was
immensely impressed. I can't wait for an excuse to upgrade to nForce2.

P.S. just looked up some benchmarking by the good guys at Tom's Hardware.
