That is the part that I forgot to include in my first message.  While
the course exists, the UofA CSc department itself can be a major PITA to
deal with.  If you aren't after a University credit, you may be better
off searching other learning institutions for this class.  The UofA
Extended University used to offer a C programming class, but I don't see
one scheduled on their website.  IIRC, the EU will be scrapped in the
budget shuffling that is now underway.  Sun has a training center in
town.  Maybe they, or one of the other vocational training centers,
offer programming courses.  All will be expensive.  I taught myself C by
borrowing C books from the Tucson public libraries.  I had to read 3 or
4 different books for it all to sink in.  There wasn't one book that
made it click.  All have their strengths and weaknesses.
