Subject: [Tfug] Pima College Linux Classes - Low enrollment

Hi,

If anyone disagrees with me posting this, please let me know off list.
This will be my only post on this subject. Any followup, beyond course
content, please send directly to me, micros@azstarnet.com

As most of you know, I am teaching Linux Networking and Advanced Linux
Networking at Pima West.

The courses are:

Linux System & Net Admin CIS 225, CRN 22637, Friday Night's 5:30-9pm, 4
credit hours, current enrollment is 15 out of a possible 24. First class
is 01/17/03, registration the sooner the better www.pima.edu for online,
or any campus to register in person. CIS 225 includes installation of
Debian GNU/Linux, kernel compiles, setup of apache, squid, samba, and bind

Advanced Linux Networking, CIS 298-T2, CRN 22665, Saturday 12:40-4:20pm, 4
credit hours, current enrollment is 11 out of a possible 24. First class
is 01/18/03, registration the sooner the better wwww.pima.edu for online,
or any campus to register in person. CIS 298-T2 includes installation of
Debian GNU/Linux on to a raid 1 mirror set, kernel compiles with more
advanced options, IP Tables firewalling and NAT, setup of apache virtual
servers, squid and squidguard for content control, samba as a primary
domain controler, dhcpd3 and bind, as well as mosix clustering.

It is recommended to have CIS225 before CIS 298-T2, unless you have a:
installed Linux more than 10 times, and b: recompiled your kernel at least
twice.

These courses will either be permited to run, or not, based on enrollment
as of monday, 01/13/03 or tuesday 01/14/03.
