Hi all,
I recently bought a really nice laptop for myself that looks like it's
going to be good enough for all my home computing needs, so I'm going to
be selling my Athlon desktop. It's basically a Compaq Presario Desktop
Multimedia PC, Model 5102-US, which I bought in September, 2001, w/a few
additions of my own, labelled below with an asterisk (*).
It has run Windows ME, 2000, and Linux reliably and with excellent
performance for the past 2 years. It includes a high-quality 17"
CRT monitor and about 1 2/3 years of x-tra warranty. Asking price for the
package: $600. Here are the detailed specs (x-tras labeled with *):
Via KT133 Chipset 200 MHz FSB, w/a Thunderbird Athlon, 1.0 GHz CPU
(*) 384 MB Memory, PC133-SDRAM (I added x-tra memory to it from 128 MB).
40 GB Hard Disk, 5400 RPM
(*) 15 GB IBM Deskstar HDD, 7200 RPM (that's where I put Linux)
NVidia AGP GeForce2 MX Video Card (Inno3D)
Maxi Muse PCI Sound Card (CM 8738 audio processor); audio out, mic, line in
CDROM 1: CD Reader, 56x
CDROM 2: CD-RW 8x Write Speed
* PCI Ethernet: SMC2-1211TX
Mid-size tower, ATX Form Factor for main board
4 USB Ports (2 in front of tower), 1 Parallel, 2 Serial, 1 AGP, 3 PCI
USB Keyboard
PS2 Wheel Mouse
(No speakers; no printer; no power surge protector)
* 17" High-Quality CRT Monitor, ViewSonic Graphics Series Model G75f
Best Buy upgrade to 3 year warranty ends in August, 2004
Comes with Windows ME
Let me know if you're interested, and I can set up a time for you to take
a look at it.
Cheers,
Curtis
