Anyone have experience/recommendations/comments on attempting to use
the wine emulator app to flash firmware? On any kind of hardware.

A quick scan of http://appdb.codeweavers.com/ turned up only this:
Plextor CD-R Drive Firmware update program - which someone got to
work on that specific hardware.

My case is:
Actiontec 56K V.90 PCI MASTER modem is what I want to flash upgrade.
FreeBSD 4.6-RELEASE
wine-2001.08.24 - is installed and worked to extract

PM560LKI.EXE which I got from Actiontec's web site. That's just the
self extracting .exe which expanded to these files:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 1001 1002 244224 Feb 5 1999 Flash32.exe
-rw-r--r-- 1 1001 1002 16188 Feb 5 1999 Flashldr.hex
-rw-r--r-- 1 1001 1002 4406 Jun 13 2001 Readme.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 1001 1002 457752 Jul 24 2000 c620t3h2.hex
-rw-r--r-- 1 1001 1002 210 Feb 5 1999 flash32.ini

So that part worked. The "meat & potatoes" is to run that Flash32.exe
which I've not tried yet.

I guess one thing I might due is upgrade my wine rev to
wine-2002.08.04 which is the latest rev in the FreeBSD ports tree.
