There's always that question of how far a person would be willing to go 
to get at your data.

My assumption has always been that the furthest anyone could get on my 
system is the Windows 98 box [which serves as the router/firewall for my 
Linux workstation (to those who might think of it -- don't ask -- I 
can't get into the why's and wherefore's on this via email)].

It's not that I don't think there are people who could get further than 
that. It's just that I doubt there's anyone who is capable of doing so 
who would find the effort worthwhile.

I don't bother with a car alarm for similar reasons...
