greetings, from a fellow novice (i hate the "N" word).  i just wanted to 
mention 2 things to you:

(1) you owe it to both your curiosity and your geographical good fortune to 
come to the meetings every other sun nite (i.e., this sun) at st greg's on 
craycroft, if for no other reason than simply to soak up the linux vibe and 
leverage your $5 against an otherwise very expensive pizza.

(2) re: the bowie principle; if you have even one (1) smart-ass vein in your 
body, you cannot afford to disregard *ANY* percentage of such masterful 
input.  the downside--you'll be disappointed to learn--is that he's not the 
easiest thing in the room to look at.  however, as current events have 
taught us being god is not a pretty business.
