Well, there's http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/ to start with.  Then:
http://linux-ha.org/ .  One of the most mature, functional and reliable
solutions is here: http://oss.sgi.com/projects/failsafe/ .  And RedHat's
attempt is here: http://ha.redhat.com/ which works well but doesn't keep
pace with their current OS release.  These are just the ones I've
fiddled with.  Check out the links on the ha.org website for more than
you ever wanted to know about ha linux.

Speeking of hardware:  if you have an L2 cache kit (256K, FRU 96G2121)
for an IBM PC Server 320, I will trade for one pound of dark belgian
chocolate from Trader Joe's.  Heh.
