I'm betting a large percentage of the "Joe Sixpack" computing public would 
be well served by a well implemented AOL/OpenOffice/Linux solution if it 
came in quite a bit cheaper than AOL/MSOffice/Windows.

I wonder why they wouldn't release it, at least as an unsupported product.  
Maybe it used WINE and didn't run well?  The code must be reasonably 
portable to run on Mac and Windows.  It also seems to have been ported to 
Carbon on OS X pretty nicely (AOL actually runs pretty well on OS X from a 
performance standpoint, perhaps they could give Microsoft some pointers 
with MS Office :) ).
