OK, given the time it's taken me to get around to actually replying to
this I guess one of my specialties is procrastination.
As for Distros, I usually stick with Debian, as long as hte system is up
to snuff. apt-get is just too fun. On less capable hardware I'll use
whatever specialized distro is appropriate. LRP/Bering on the firewall,
Agenda Linux on the Agenda, and hopefully Familiar on the PocketPC soon.
I also try to collect interesting bits of hardware and run Linux on them.
2 X x86, 2 X PowerPC, 1 X MIPS (and another on Sunday), the StrongARM
PocketPC. I've also played with a couple of UltraSparcs, which was quite
enjoyable.
For software I do a bunch of Debian on servers. Apache, bind, Samba
(shudder), ssh, some OpenLDAP, exim etc with a little perl scatterd about.
Hmm, I think that's the bulk of it.
I do some light programing. C, even kernel tinkering, Perl, Python, Java,
c++, and whatever else is needed.
My Desktop & Laptop are Debian too, just for the shear lazyness of
apt-get.
