I do Geographic Information Systems work in support of the transportation modeling division of the Pima Assoc. of
Governments. I also do the odd bit of Sys Admin stuff when our pro is out of the office. Unfortunately all of the GIS &
modeling software that we use only runs on Windoze so aside from the occasional Trinux boot I don't do any *nix work
at work.

At home I dual boot Suse 7.2 and Win2k using the former where I can and the later for games. Every couple of months
I get a bee in my bonnet and try messing around with a hardware or software upgrade [VMWare, new nic, broadband
connect, swappable HD, OS or BIOS update -- simple stuff] and about half the time I totally hose things and have to
rebuild the system from scratch. But, I learn a little more each time and figure that by the time I lose all of my hair I will
have learned how not to fry the MBR. [5x and counting!]

This list is great for picking up little bits and pieces of the larger linux puzzle. I learn a lot about capabilites that I didn't
even know to ask about. Moreover, there are all these interesting side lights, like the pringle antenae, that are well, just
cool.
