[Tfug] Interesting point (was Bunghole!)

Judy made a very pertinent point in this never-ending discussion on what to
do about these wildly off-topic (and borderline porno) threads that get
going on this list.  I've not really concerned myself overmuch, because I
just delete anything from certain individuals or with threads I know to
have gone off the deep end.  However, a newbie (a class of people whom I
think we want to help) will not know (1) who the assholes are, and (2) that
there are really some useful and handy-to-know folks on this list will not
know who to ignore and will quite possibly blow the whole TFUG off as a
bunch of loser technogeek sub-adolescents.  

So, perhaps we should discuss how to try to help the newbies navigate the
minefield that is the TFUG list without resorting to draconian measures
like throwing someone off (or frontal lobotomies or removal of other body
parts).  Any ideas?
