The flame wars and insults may be humorous to some, but they are offensive
and unneccessary to most. I doubt that the reason for creating this list
years ago was to allow egotistical people to make themselves feel better.
Instead, the purpouse (or part of it) was probably to spread the use of
free unix. How do you think a newbie feels when he posts a question to
the list and the result is you telling people to kiss your ass? How is it
beneficial to anything but your ego?
