[Tfug] cisco678 issue

Hey Keith,

I installed DSL for Qwest for a couple years... so if
you have much experience with Qwest, please don't hold
that against me... I was employed by a contractor. ;-)

Anyway, there is method by which you can completely
erase the system and flash the memory with a new
image. I'll see what I can dig up on the steps and
send you an email off the list.

If eth0 dies though... from what I remember it's a
lost cause. I remember a similar situation and it did
seem as if the physical interface just crapped out
from loose solder or a bad wire or something.

I never noticed any heating issues with the box, but
it is sensitive to power surges on the incoming phone
line... a good lightning strike nearby seems to fry
one quick.
