[Tfug] Debian Linux on Libretto

See, now I have to admit that I just use Mandrake as a workstation (and
mostly for fun).

The only thing that ever comes up here that I know anything about is
networking, and even there I'm at a disadvantage... All the hardware
I've ever had has worked for whatever I wanted it to do. It's never
occurred to me to try to improve the performance of anything. Every
computer here seems to perform it's given task(s) just fine without any
(okay, without much) hardware tweaking. And, believe it or not, the
computers that I do have are all strung together with cable. Not a
wireless piece in the whole bunch.

Librettos running Debian, wireless ethernet cards, 12 step
programs...

It's all a little bit beyond my grasp.

Maybe someone else will jump in with some suggestions.

+ I'm probably responding to some of what was said below:

. I used to but my friends did an intervention and now I'm a 12 step program. I
. get my 1 year chip soon!

. Yes, I'm not sure what kind of insanity took hold for me. It's probably
. related to the code addiction. I've never attempted a linux install before,
. much less on a laptop.
.
. I used a combination of a pcmcia floppy and cdrom drive and the 20MB flash
. memory card and adapter for a digital camera.
.
. I want to stick a wireless ethernet card in here. Any suggestions as to which
. brand/model and tips and tricks to configure on Debian woody?
.
. Thanks and Hiya!
