You know, you could just keep Debian on there, and install IceWM or 
something with more features than TWM and yet still small and robust (TWM 
ain't the only thing Debian offers ;-) But I would definitely try and 
replace the stock kernel that comes with Debian (actually, stock kernels 
are generally evil, and should be replaced from any distro... but that's 
just my opinion.)
